There are a couple of Vectis auctions taking place soon that are crammed with items sure to appeal to downthetubes readers – especially if you’re a Marvel, Transformers or Star Wars fan.
Taking place on Tuesday 19th May, their next Comics & Publications auction includes a number of British comic lots, including Captain Britain #1 and 2 with free gifts, plenty of large annual lots, and some choice singles issues of American comics, including a graded #1 The Silver Surfer, as well as bulk lots.
The catalogue offers comics, graphic novels, hardback and paperback books, annuals, and oversized hardback graphic novels from Marvel, DC, Image Comics, Valiant, Dark Horse and DC Vertigo comics covering Silver Age through to modern issues with notable runs and key storylines.
For those interested in counter culture, a lot featuring the rare INK magazine, one of British underground publishing’s most loved but short lived titles, published in the early 1970s, is part of this auction. It’s not clear from the auction description if it’s a full run, but penultimate Special Issue in February 1972, offers in-depth reporting of Bloody Sunday, and a final issue, a “Romantic Love” special, covered everything from sexism in kid’s comics to the idea of sex and marriage as a capitalist plot.
There’s a terrific article about this title here by Rob Chapman. “I’ve only ever seriously mourned the passing of three British publications,” he writes. “INK was one of them.”

Vectis TV /Film Auction
The catalogue for next Vectis TV /Film Auction, taking place on 22nd May 2026 is also online. Transformers fans are likely to be interested in this one!
The auction includes loose, carded and boxed figures, vehicles and playsets and includes Lord of the Rings, Star Trek, Game of Thrones, Chronicles of Narnia and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, plus Spider-man carded figure groups, boxed Transformers, Batman, James Bond and plenty of Star Wars items.
Further items include Disney preproduction artwork, James Bond limited edition lithograph prints, promotional movie banners and a large collection of signed TV & Film related photographs.
The auction also includes books, memorabilia and collectables, plus graded DC Comics white pages, and MYC Sculptures/Collectibles Star Wars pieces.
