If vicious Vikings and demon lords are the kind of things that grab your attention when searching for a comic to read, then look no further – because Tim Hall’s Skragbeard & The Vikings has these in spades.
In Issue One – on sale now from Tim’s Void Studios web site – village Chieftain-to-be Skragbeard, his best man Andersen and future brother-in-law Gunnersen are the only survivors when their boat is shipwrecked during a violent storm on their return from Skragbeard’s stag party.
Cold, wet and in a hostile, unknown land, Skragbeard attempts to acquire clothing from a nearby settlement – only to find himself caught between a returning village horde and an all-too-familiar face…
This US-format full colour comic is terrific fun as Skragbeard takes on a demon lord. Tim’s work is accomplished and fast-moving, with some stunning visuals as his hapless hero explores the gothic village (the communal hall created from bones is but one eye-catching detail that caught my eye.
Tim tells me the series took him two years to write and develop between his client work, and Issue One took over a year to draw. Have a look at some of his pages and designs below, then head over to his web site to find out more. Before the demons get you!
