Writing on the Wall: Marvel Mayhem in Liverpool in May

Writing on the Wall: Marvel Mayhem 2015

Former Marvel editor Tim Quinn and comic artists Charlie Adlard and Emma Vieceli are guests at the Writing on the Wall Festival in Liverpool next month.

Writing on the Wall is a Liverpool-based community organisation that coordinates projects and events that celebrate writing in all its forms. They work with a broad and inclusive definition of writing that embraces literature, creative writing, journalism and non-fiction, poetry, songwriting, and storytelling. Writing on the Wall works with local, national and international writers whose work provokes controversy and debate, and works with all of Liverpool’s communities to promote and celebrate individual and collective creativity.

Writing on the Wall hosts a month long annual writing festival each May – the culmination of year round writing and spoken word projects involving people of all ages from diverse communities across the regionSince its inception WoW has delivered 15 festivals bringing high profile guests to the city to participate in unique and provocative events.

At a workshop titled “Marvel Mayhem – Unmasking the Real Superheroes” on Saturday 16th May at Liverpool Central Library, join the “notorious” (the Festival’s description, not mine!) Tim Quinn for an exclusive, hands-on workshop to make your own comic book creation.

The workshop will be followed by a panel discussion exploring the links between UK and American graphic novels with Tim, Charlie and Emma taking the stage to tell attendees their stories, give tips and answer questions.
