Planet Replica Reveals Limited Edition Mekon Figure, solicits pre-orders

Planet Replicas Ltd – makers of many 2000AD-inspired items – has begun taking orders for a limited edition release of the Mekon as he appeared in “Dan Dare” in the Galaxy’s Greatest Comic.

A limited edition of just 350 pieces, this is the first ever licensed Mekon statue based on the 2000AD run of “Dan Dare”, and inspired by the stunning work of Dave Gibbons.

“The Mekon is one of the most iconic villains in British comic history, and makes an important piece for any connoisseur to celebrate the strip throughout the decades,” say Planet Replicas.

The Mekon figure, the result of a digital sculpt by top artist Alex Ronald, paint master by Leigh Shepherd and based on a prototype by Mandy Smith and Daniel Carey-George, comes either fully finished or in kit form.

Each version comes supplied with a clear rod based stand system, enabling the resin based statue to ‘hover’ at approximately 350mm high (including stand).
