Creating a football comics graphic novel: publisher Michael Barrett set to share some secrets

Preston North End – The Rise Of The Invincibles - CoverMichael Barrett, writer and publisher of Preston North End – The Rise of the Invincibles, will be at the Preston’s Harris Museum & Library on Wednesday 12th September, giving an illustrated talk about the story behind the project featuring the work of Roy of the Rovers artist David Sque.

“Making the Invincibles covers what inspired me to write the graphic novel,” Michael told downthetubes, “why I chose the Invincibles; who they were; and looks in detail at the process of producing the pages with David.”

Michael will be on hand after the talk to answer any questions and sign copies of the book.

The founder of downthetubes, John works as a comics editor, writer, as Creative Consultant on the Dan Dare audio adventures for B7 Media, and on promotional work for the Lakes International Comic Art Festival.
