ComicScene 4 spotlights Simon Furman and Geoff Senior’s “To the Death”

ComicScene Issue 4 is out now in all good comic shops and available through many newsagents – and includes a free 16-page supplement featuring Simon Furman and Geoff Senior‘s new 10 part comic, To The Death. The supplement includes an interview with Simon and Geoff, exclusive art, a preview of the strip, now available in print from Get My Comics, and a pull out poster.

ComicScene will also be at MCM London this weekend at Stand N330 in the Comic Village with Simon and Geoff signing copies of their new comic. Back issues of ComicScene will also be available.

The latest issue of the comics magazine is an 80-page issue featuring a look at UK Comic Sales Figures by John Freeman; “The Magic of Roy Wilson” by Lew Stringer; an article on Magic comic by Phil Shrimpton of Phil-Comics; interviews with Shrewsbury’s upcoming Comics Salopia co-organiser Shane Chebsey, and Keith Richardson from Rebellion reveals more on the company’s future plans; plus looks at 2000AD Specials, a look at Avery Hill Publishing, Batman in the 1960s, BHP Comics, Daredevil, the Dark Judges, Draculass, Daughter of Dracula, Good Omens, Gums, M.A.C.H 1, the Six Million Dollar Man, X-Men: Dark Phoenix and much more.

Strips offered include “Whackoman!” and “Our Land”, plus more from Alan Holloway, Ed Doyle and Mr Jimer, plus the 16-page exclusive pull out supplement on To The Death.

John Freeman

The founder of downthetubes, which he established in 1998. John works as a comics and magazine editor, writer, and on promotional work for the Lakes International Comic Art Festival. He is currently editor of Star Trek Explorer, published by Titan – his third tour of duty on the title originally titled Star Trek Magazine.

Working in British comics publishing since the 1980s, his credits include editor of titles such as Doctor Who Magazine, Babylon 5 Magazine, and more. He also edited the comics anthology STRIP Magazine and edited several audio comics for ROK Comics. He has also edited several comic collections, including volumes of “Charley’s War” and “Dan Dare”.

He’s the writer of “Pilgrim: Secrets and Lies” for B7 Comics; “Crucible”, a creator-owned project with 2000AD artist Smuzz; and “Death Duty” and “Skow Dogs” with Dave Hailwood.
