Mr Benn in the spotlight in Ewbank’s auction today: Batman, Shaft, Thunderbirds and Star Wars tomorrow

Ewbank’s has two auctions of interest this week, starting with Memorabilia Collectables today, Thursday 8th January 2026 (starting at 11.00am) that includes film posters, music memorabilia and some cigarette and trading cards.

A highlight is surely two “Mr Benn” resin figures by Robert Harrop based on the eponymous children’s TV character still hugely popular today, created by David McKee; the first, “The Clown Car”, one of just a limited edition of 350; and the second, “The Magic Carpet”, one of an even smaller number of figures, just 250 made.

The auction also includes James Bond, Star Wars and other film posters, concert posters and other music memorabilia, and trading cards including Barbie and more.

Shaft in the Spotlight

Coming tomorrow is a Vintage Posters auction (Friday 9th January 2026, also starting at 11.00am). This includes a range of classic British horror film posters, Hammer Films (some reproductions), a wide range of Star Wars items, comedy films and other iconic posters, including Batman and Thunderbirds – the latter, a US poster, attracting strong bidding.
