Celebrating Star Trek’s upcoming 50th anniversary, MAC Cosmetics has unveiled its new makeup line inspired by the franchise, promoting it with some cool futuristic but sadly uncredited graphics.

Set for release this summer, the line has been inspired by characters Deanna Troi, Uhura, Seven of Nine and the original Orion Girl, Vina.

The range has been designed in collaboration with CBS Consumer Products and spans lipsticks, eye and face products and nail varnishes – some 25 products in all, in pink, green and gold shades.

The collection will make its debut at San Diego Comic Con as part of an exclusive one-day pre-sale on 21st July at the MAC Cosmetics store in the Gaslamp district.

Trekkies will be able to get their hands on the new collection online from 25th August and in stores from 1st September, although it isn’t clear if these dates are US only.

Star Trek is an iconic pop culture phenomenon whose storylines pushed gender and racial boundaries,” says MAC creative director James Gager of the beauty brand’s decision to launch the line. “For its 50th anniversary, we celebrate each of Star Trek’s powerful women in a transcending, transformational makeup collection.”
