Vice Press celebrates Star Trek: Captain Picard Day with stunning U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-D painting release

For this year’s Star Trek: Captain Picard Day, today, 16th June 2026, Vice Press has released something very special; limited edition, officially licensed prints of the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-D painting featured in the Ready Room in Star Trek: The Next Generation.

Working with the painters of the original piece, Andrew Probert and Rick Sternbach, Vice Press’ Matt Ferguson has restored and reformatted the original painting for this exclusive release.

The prints are available in three limited edition formats, a 36×18 inch regular edition, a 36×18 inch foil edition, which are both available framed and unframed, along with a very special, very limited scale version, sized at 60×30 inches.

Do note that there will only be 20 of the 60×30 inch edition made available, and these will be printed as fine art giclee prints, and will come unframed.

Based in Sheffield, Vice Press was established in 2015 by Matt Ferguson and James Henshaw “to create cool stuff for things we love, from our favourite films and TV shows to comics, games and more.”

Everything they do is officially licensed and as well as limited edition posters and art prints, they have gone on to release premium collectibles like pin badges, coins, steel books and jigsaws, alongside their own apparel and line of frames.

Those with mathematical skills far better than mine determined that Stardate 47457.1 is 16th June several years years ago and Captain Picard Day has been celebrated since 2007 by fans. It originated from events seen in the Star Trek: The Next Generation episode “The Pegasus” (Season Seven), where the school children of the U.S.S. Enterprise hold a festive event complete with arts, crafts, and competitions dedicated to their captain.
