An early Christmas treat for BEANO and Dandy fans, as annual covers revealed

The covers for The Dandy and Beano Annuals for 2024 have just been revealed, both out in August, as usual.

Content details are sketchy at this point, but the 2024 BEANO Annual – ISBN 978-1845359560 – features a cover by Nigel Parkinson and runs to 112 pages. It’s available to pre-order now from AmazonUK.

The 2024 The Dandy Annual – ISBN 978-1845359553 – features a cover by Steve Bright with a reworked masthead logo by Mark McIlmail, and runs to 112 pages. It’s available to pre-order now from AmazonUK.

The Dandy Annual sees the return of “Kid Cops”, appearing in four one-page strips written and drawn by Lew Stringer, starring the junior self-appointed law enforcers who first appeared in the weekly Dandy back in 2010 for a couple of runs until the comic ended in 2012. Since then, they’ve turned up in a couple of Dandy Annuals (2017 and 2018) but it’s been several years since those last appearances.

“It felt a bit strange to be writing/drawing the characters again after such a long gap” says Lew in a blog post, “but I enjoyed doing the four pages I was asked to contribute.”

Also due for release alongside these regular, hugely popular annuals in 14th August 2023 is the 144-page The Beano & Dandy Giftbook 2024 – ISBN 978-1845359492 – with a cover by Mike Donaldson offering “Spills ‘n’ Thills and Belly Laughs!”

Although we’ve included Amazon links to all three books here, you can also use the ISBN numbers included to preorder copies from your local book shop.

Look out, too, for deals in the DC Thomson web shop, where you can also subscribe to BEANO.

With thanks to Lew Stringer for the heads up, and DC Thomson Media

  1. But where is the Beano & Dandy summer special?

Also none appear on DCthomson website. In fact lots of Beano products have gone from DCthomson website. Hopefully just a clear out, in anticipation of this years new stuff.

The summer special and xmas ones are better than the annuals in my opinion.

    • Yes, I noticed elements of the DC Thomson web shop are currently no longer available. As you suggest, I suspect there’s a clear out going on. Wee don’t as yet have any information about the summer specials
