The comics world celebrates the 114th anniversary of the birth of Hergé, the beloved comics artist and Tintin creator, this month – and while European auction site Catawiki hosts a weekly auction dedicated to his work and Tintin collectables, they are currently running an additional dedicated auction to honour this comics icon.

In partnership with Hergé Genootschap, an association for Hergé and Tintin fans, the auction, which runs until Thursday 27th May 2021, features special objects dedicated to the life and work of Hergé, contributed by its 550 members.
With over 80 lots, the members of the society have brought together a beautiful collection of attractive objects, ranging from the affordable to slightly more expensive, including first editions of some Tintin albums and rare figurines, some already reaching stratospheric bids.

The Hergé Genootschap is a Dutch-language association for lovers of the work of Hergé, or George Remi, the spiritual father of Tintin, among others. The association researches and publish about the work and organises fun and educational meetings, lectures and presentations with varying themes several times a year.
