Comic conventions are an integral part of being a small press creator, and this week marks the first time the Awesome Comics Podcast team talk to one of the hard working folk behind the events. Shane Chebsey, the man behind the Shrewsbury Comic Arts Festival and ICE events, joins the ACP crew to talk about the joys and perils of organising comic events.
There’s talk of getting pro guests for events, the responsibility of convention organisers, people selling prints of other people’s characters and so much more. It’s a great insight into the behind the scenes of event organising!
There’s also talk of some awesome books you need to check out, Last of the Summer Wine, Dan Butcher brings out his pop culture guns, Vince Hunt expresses himself everywhere and Tony Esmond compares his hair to a golden waterfall. Plus there’s also some serious kazoo action. How can you miss that?!
