Cardiff’s only independent comic show returns on Saturday 27th June, 2015 at Cardiff Masonic Hall.
The Cardiff Independent Comic Expo (CICE) will showcase the very best in independent comic artists, writers, publishers, retailers, illustrators and more, from South Wales and beyond.
The event returns after a brief break in 2014, to build on the successful shows held since 2011, to celebrate the talent of those creators at the heart of the indie scene.
Guests include Doctor Who, Marvel, DC Comics and 2000AD artist Mike Collins, 2000AD artist Patrick Goddard and Dylan Teague, Transformers artist Jason Cardy and Marvel UK and Discotronic Funk Commandos artist Simon Williams; plus 2000AD writers Ian Edginton and Rob Williams and horror writers Jasper Bark, David Moody and Wayne Simmons.
They are joined by superbly talented indie creators including David Broughton; Anastasia Catris; top independent creator Paul Grist, best known for the brilliant Jack Staff; colourist Anthony D. Lee, who has worked on Black Bat – Domino Lady for Moonstone and Retro Tales, a homage to 1970s Marvel comics from Retro Comics Group; The Dark creator Chris Lynch; the hugely-talented comics writer, artist and actor Jessica Martin, creator of It Girl and Vivacity; Sarah Millman, creator of Hero of Time; Kate Nicholson and Sam Roads, the creators of Silicone Heart; and Stu.Art; plus indie publishers Bearded Skull Comics, the Lou Scannon team, Razarhawk, Time Bomb Comics and Godmachine.

The show is suitable for all ages, families are welcome, as are family friendly cosplayers.

The founder of downthetubes, which he established in 1998. John works as a comics and magazine editor, writer, and on promotional work for the Lakes International Comic Art Festival. He is currently editor of Star Trek Explorer, published by Titan – his third tour of duty on the title originally titled Star Trek Magazine.
Working in British comics publishing since the 1980s, his credits include editor of titles such as Doctor Who Magazine, Babylon 5 Magazine, and more. He also edited the comics anthology STRIP Magazine and edited several audio comics for ROK Comics. He has also edited several comic collections, including volumes of “Charley’s War” and “Dan Dare”.
He’s the writer of “Pilgrim: Secrets and Lies” for B7 Comics; “Crucible”, a creator-owned project with 2000AD artist Smuzz; and “Death Duty” and “Skow Dogs” with Dave Hailwood.
