Fan of The Walking Dead? Then Barrow-based fund raisers ArtWorks – Art4All has a smashing item drawn by Charlie Adlard up for grabs – but not for long!

ArtWorks – Art4All is a volunteer-led organisation, created by former teacher Sharon Tait, working with a team of volunteers, to raise funds and awareness for mental health and well-being charities. Working with over 100 artists from across the North West and beyond, they’ve successfully raised thousands for organisations such as Dalton Leisure Centre and Barrow and Kendal based mental health charity SAFA, and now they’re auctioning off a rather splendid unique Walking Dead item.
“I met Charlie Adlard at the The Lakes International Comic Art Festival in October,” Sharon tells downthetubes, “and he kindly drew Michonne from the Walking Dead, and signed it.”
The unique A4-size art now being offered in an online “silent auction” which ends at 5.00pm on Friday 25th November 2022. A potential Christmas present for a Walking Dead fan in your life, perhaps?
If you’re interested, send your bids to sharon.tait667@btinternet.com – and the highest price offered by 5.00pm this Friday wins.
Any money raised will go to the next ArtWorks – Art4All project, raising money for FirstLight, a charity that supports veterans and the emergency services.
All ArtWorks – Art4All projects place arts at their core, aiming to create events that involve people regardless of whether they consider themselves to be “no good at art, I can’t draw a stickman”, through to “I’ve exhibited my work regularly”.

Join the “Return to Sender” project
ArtWorks – Art4All are currently running a large art-based fundraising project called “Return to Sender”, also in aid of FirstLight.
“We want to post out blank postcards to artists and writers, in any medium, and they then produce something to go on it,” Sharon outlines. “They can be as creative as they like, as long as the final work fits on the postcard.
“They then return it to us (our address will be on the postcard) and we will then will exhibit them in Barrow.”
All postcards received will be offered in a silent auction to raise money for FirstLight. If you’re an interested creator, please drop Sharon a line via sharon.tait667@btinternet.com and let her know where to send your postcard.
Please do include some information about your own work with your details, including relevant web links your online portfolio or most used social media profiles, if possible.
The postcards should be ready to mail out to creators in a couple of weeks, so drop Sharon a line now if you can help.
