COMIC ARTISTS WANTED FOR NEW IMPRINT – OPEN CALL
This is an open call for comic strip samples for upcoming paid projects in 2021/ 2022.
I’m working with British company B7 Media and other partners on the launch a new comic imprint, who plan a number of paid comics projects which will we will begin work on next year. They range from hard science fiction to steampunk, fantasy, horror and gothic horror.
As you can imagine, as a freelance editor who has worked for Marvel, Titan Comics and other publishers, I already have a lot of samples of comic creators work on file, but in some cases, those files need updating and there are plenty of artists out there whose work I may not know.
The slant of initial projects requires action adventure style art – so no ligne claire at this point, or humour strips but very much yes to samples featuring published action adventure work, SF and steampunk – and fantasy strips too.
We want to see comic strip pages, primarily, but if you’re more of a cover artist, very happy to see samples, too.
HOW TO SUBMIT SAMPLES
Send up to three strip pages to downthetubesATcruciblecomicpress.com. (Replace the AT with @ when composing your mail). Please ensure your subject header includes “Comic Strip Samples”
Please include pencils if you do them of at least one of the pages, as well as a finished page.
Colour samples are also welcomed; again, three pages only
Send us up to four covers.
No samples need to be high resolution. If you’d prefer to send a link to an online portfolio, that’s perfectly fine, but please make sure your most recent work is prominent.
Please include a short bio indicating published work, web links, and an indication of your page rates and a realistic indication how long it takes you to deliver a page. (We appreciate that these days artists are juggling projects and sometimes comic strip art is not their day job!)
Thank you for your interest.
