Designer Stuart Manning, perhaps best known for his stunning Doctor Who posters and promotional work, has co-produced a new radio documentary with Sean Pertwee celebrating the centenary of the Third Doctor and his childhood hero, the brilliant Jon Pertwee.
As Patrick Mulkearn notes in a fantastic item on the actor for Radio Times, Pertwee would not only have been 100 this year, 2019 also marks 50 years since he was cast as the Third Doctor.

“The Jon Pertwee Files is an hour-long programme presented by Jon’s son, Sean,” Stuart explained on social media, “gathering rare archive material, never-before-broadcast backstage interviews, vintage radio appearances and newly discovered audio from the very first Doctor Who convention in 1977.”

Promoting the Radio 2 serial “Doctor Who: The Ghosts of N Space” in 1996, Jon Pertwee told Radio Times about his likes and dislikes
An established actor himself, Sean Pertwee’s roles include Sergeant Wells in the film Dog Soldiers and Pilot Smith in Event Horizon, and TV roles such as Inspector Lestrade in CBS’s Elementary and Alfred Pennyworth in Fox’s Gotham.
• The Jon Pertwee Files will be broadcast on BBC Radio 4 Extra on Saturday 6th July 2019 at 8.00am, repeated at 3.00pm and will be available on BBC Sounds after broadcast

I’m looking forward to this. Be great if this was turned into a a television documentary. One of my earliest television memories is watching Pertwee as the doctor and kicking off when it finished because I wanted to know what happened next.
