Cosplay Festival comes to Kendal next month

Kendal Cosplay Festival 2018

Kendal, home to the long-running Lakes International Comic Art Festival, is to host a new Cosplay Festival – and both organisations will be working together.

The town’s Ruskins pub will host a one day event on Sunday 15th July 2018, with a view to having a full weekend Festival in 2019.

As well as being a lot of fun, the new Cosplay Festival will be supporting local charity Space2Create and a fantastic voluntary projects in West Africa, Imagine Senegal.

The Festival will invite cosplay entries from all ages and promises an action-packed fun day, continuing into the evening with performances by both new and established musicians, circus, magic and dance acts.

The day will offer face painting and food for well-deserving cosplayers and friends.

“We had a great meeting with Julie Tait, organiser of Lakes International Comic Arts Festival”, says Kendal Cosplay organiser Claire Griffel.

“We’ve agreed to collaborate and connect the two festivals…It’s going to get big!”

This year’s Kendal Cosplay will offer 10 VIP passes for LICAF as prizes for the best cosplayers.

With a major steampunk-inspired element being organised by the Clockwork Watch team led by Yomi Ayeni and Corey Brotherson for this year’s LICAF in October, this sounds like a great team up to us!
