Dalek and other Doctor Who replicas feature in London storage sale

Although some of the items owned by prop designer Julian Vince, well known for his recreation of Daleks from Doctor Who, were recently saved thanks to support from friends and fans, some artefacts and other collectibles are now part of a storage auction ending 21st April 2025.

The auction details are here on iBidStorage

The auction description lists the sale of “Three units auctioned as one.… Doctor Who life size Dalek model parts as per photos, magazines, books, paint and art items. Units total over 800sqft.”

Standard waivers to the auction description make it clear these is no attempt made to suggest the items being sold are from any era of the show’s actual production, but those familiar with Julian’s work over decades will know he was commissioned to recreate Doctor Who props many times, for a variety of clients.

As we previously reported, Julian battled to save his work and supporters organised a crowdfunder to try to help him. Although an anonymous donation enabled access to rescue some items, much remained.

All monies raised by crowdfunding were, we understand, used to pay outstanding fees.

We’re very sorry Julian’s collection has not been saved despite the efforts of friends, and intervention by experts in the field of storage salvage.
