Cartoonist Lew Stringer, a longtime supporter of downthetubes and a good friend, too, is selling more of his original art on eBay, and this week there are more smashing pages on offer – plus two vintage ones by comic industry greats.
On offer are original hand drawn pages – not prints, not facsimiles, not pages torn from comics, not the misrepresented pages pulled from old comics some sellers unfortunately try to sell as the real deal.
Head to Lew’s eBay page here to bid on these original artworks.
First there’s a complete, two-page “Pete and His Pimple” story from Lew, both pages up for bids in the same auction. They were drawn for Oink! No. 65, back in 1988.

Next – a “Combat Colin” page that Lew created did for Marvel UK’s Transformers No.197 back in 1989, featuring the one and only appearance of Colin’s stand in!
If you’re a Doctor Who fan, there’s also a “Daft Dimension” strip Lew drew for Doctor Who Magazine No. 522 in 2018, featuring Daleks in their true form.
Lew is also selling a “Billy Bunter” half pager by the legendary Eric Roberts, who later drew “Winker Watson”, “Dirty Dick” and others for The Dandy. This original Billy Bunter page, from the classic age of comics, is part of a longer story (which Lew doesn’t have) but is a brilliant example of Eric Robert’s artwork, drawn for the Easter issue of Knockout comic, way back in 1959.
Finally… If that doesn’t entice you, how about a fantastic “School Belle” page by the great Tom Paterson, which he drew for Buster in 1985? This is the last of Tom’s pages Lew is selling, so if you’re a fan of his work, don’t miss out!

These artwork auctions end on Sunday 23rd February 2025, so there’s only a short time to go!
