The Lakes International Comic Art Festival has just launched a fund-raising auction on eBay that will help raise finds for its 2015 outreach and Festival activities which includes artwork by Dave Gibbons, French artist Boulet, Jeff Smith and artists from VIZ.
All money raised from the sale of the items will go towards the LICAF 2015 festival.
They include
• A Batman sketch by Mark Buckingham, drawn as part of a live draw event this year. A3 cartridge paper, charcoal and chalk on sky blue pastel paper, signed Mark
• A gorgeous drawing by Boulet on A2 cartridge paper drawn in marker pen and signed Boulet, Kendal 2014
• Robot Archie by Comics Laureate Dave Gibbons, a great character from Lion
• Jeff Smith, Bone meets Romuald Reutimann
• Junko Mizuno Drawing (one of two drawings from Junko for the cause)
• Fat Slags drawing by Graham Dury
Other artists work includes sketches by Sean Phillips, Jeremie Moreau, Joost Swarte, Simon Thorp and Rian Hughes and you can view all the items here on eBay. The auction closes 27th November 2014

The founder of downthetubes, which he established in 1998. John works as a comics and magazine editor, writer, and on promotional work for the Lakes International Comic Art Festival. He is currently editor of Star Trek Explorer, published by Titan – his third tour of duty on the title originally titled Star Trek Magazine.
Working in British comics publishing since the 1980s, his credits include editor of titles such as Doctor Who Magazine, Babylon 5 Magazine, and more. He also edited the comics anthology STRIP Magazine and edited several audio comics for ROK Comics. He has also edited several comic collections, including volumes of “Charley’s War” and “Dan Dare”.
He’s the writer of “Pilgrim: Secrets and Lies” for B7 Comics; “Crucible”, a creator-owned project with 2000AD artist Smuzz; and “Death Duty” and “Skow Dogs” with Dave Hailwood.
