If you’re in London tomorrow, why not swing by GOSH and meet artist Jamie Lenman, aka Baxter, and the team from MIWK Publishing, to celebrate the launch of Whoah!
Gathered from the pages of Panini’s Doctor Who Magazine comes a complete collection of Jamie’s glorious comic strip, published under the name ‘Baxter’. Collected here for the first time, the strips are presented in a full-colour hardback book that includes some unpublished early drafts, rejected ideas, and commentary from Jamie. What if the Earth was invaded by a horde of sticklebacks? Jackson Lake thought he was Mr T and not the Doctor? The TARDIS crew met Posh and Becks? Find out in this book!
Jamie is an illustrator, animator, and designer, whose signature style captures each of the doctors personalities (and their outfits) perfectly! The book really is terrific – a must have gift for Doctor Who fans this Christmas, featuring appearances from all your favourite Doctors, villains, companions, and unexpected celebrity cameos in some of the most surreal Who comic strips ever.
Miwk Publishing – who have published plenty of Doctor Who-related titles and have more publications in the works, including It’s Bigger on the Inside, assembling strips and cartoons also published in Doctor Who Magazine, conceived by Tim Quinn and drawn by Dicky Howett for DWM and other Marvel UK publications – will be donating £1 for every copy sold to Giggle Doctors, the Theodora Children’s Trust.
Miwk Publishing Ltd are specialists in film, TV, music and drama related books. The company is owned and run by Matthew West and Robert Hammond and is in its third year of trading. Their emphasis has always been on quality products, ensuring the best standards in printing, packaging, customer service and of course, writing.
