There’s another packed episode of the Lakes International Comic Art Festival Podcast on offer this week, as the team prepare for the Lakes International Comic Art Festival 2018 – not long to go now!
This episode Ian Loxam and Nikki Bates chat to comic creators Yomi Ayeni and Corey Brotherson about their Clockwork Watch event at this year’s Festival.
The steampunk-inspired immersive experience culminates in a live event on Saturday night which includes a guest appearance by The Simpsons director David Silverman and features students from Kendal College – and two of the students, Ryan Cooke and Honor Short, talk about their characters and how they worked with Yomi to develop this event.
(Check out the stories the students have created connected with the Kendal project on the Clockwork Watch website).
Reviewed this episode are Wolf by Rachael Ball and My Heroes Have Always Been Junkies by Ed Brubaker, Sean Phillips and Jacob Phillips – plus there’s discussion of the new Netflix animation Hilda, based on Luke Pearson’s comics.
Ian and Nikki discuss their opinions on Marvel vs DC – tying win with what looks like will be a pretty heated debate to pen the Festival – then Pete Taylor and Mike Williams join forces again for an extra long special, and delve into their choices for which is the best.
