Next week, on Tuesday 24th November, the Lakes International Comic Art Festival will be hitting London with their first ever auction of original comic art. It’s going to be a glittering affair, with celebrity auctioneers Jonathan Ross and Tim Farron MP, ridiculously delicious nosh in the form of Cumbrian Canapes, and free wine with which to enjoy – and even own – original art by some of the greatest comic artists working on both sides of the Atlantic.
The auction is being hosted by our great friends Orbital Comics at 8 Great Newport Street, London WC2H 7JA. And it all gets underway at 6.30pm on the 24th. If you’d like to be at the event then be aware places on the night are limited, but you can reserve a bidding slot now by emailing peter@comicartfestival.com.
If you can’t make it to London, don’t worry! You can still bid, and even watch the auction live, by visiting our online catalogue here. You can even place bids in advance. The only thing you won’t be able to do with the online version is get any of the canapes. Or the wine.
The Festival’s friends and supporters in the comic art community have been incredibly generous, and we have stunning works by:
- Dave Gibbons
- Posy Simmonds
- Bryan Talbot
- Steve Bell
- Graham and Simon from VIZ
- Stuart Immonen
- Junko Mizuno
- Charlie Adlard
- Sean Phillips

… and many more. So email Peter now (peter@comicartfestival.com), or get onto proxibid to, er, bid!
