The latest issue of the longest-running 2000AD fanzine – Dogbreath, from FutureQuake Press, positively demands your attention, not least for its stunning cover by Colin MacNeil – and the more so because it includes a strip written by Marvel and 2000AD artist Kev Hopgood, drawn by Rich Waugh.
“Middenface McNulty – McNulty’s Law” is a fun story starring Middenface McNulty, on a mission to deliver a mystery man to Camp Hadrian – and, of course, the trip across the radiation-soaked British countryside is far from easy!
Strips in Issue 36 of Dogbreath include “Durham Red – The Giza Job” by writer Matt Sharp and artist Gail Nedry; “Strontium Dog – Back To Basics” by writer Daniel Whiston and artist David Broughton, a smashing opener for the issue and a fun story of life – and death, if you cross Johnny Alpha! – in a wayward gold mining town.
Plus, there’s “Strontium Dog’s – Spud Murphy- One Patoot, Two Patoot” by writer Mark Keenan and artist Scott Twells; “Strontium Dog’s – Weyland” by writer David Fenn and artist Adam Caudill; and “Strontium Dog’s – What Goes Around” by writer Matt Sharp and artist Matt Sandbrook.
All the strips are lettered by Bolt-01 and this great issue includes Leigh Shepherd’s final case-by-case review of the classic Strontium Dog run in 2000AD.
