We’ve previously reported on some of the Treasury of British Comics titles on their way to bookshops in 2019 from Rebellion, but now the 2000AD publisher has released more information – and covers – for three of them.
Despite the huge number of classic British collections on their way next year (and not just from Rebellion, if hints from DC Thomson are anything to go by), some fans are wondering when we might see new collections of some of much-loved 1950s and 60s comic characters Rebellion recently purchased from TI Media.
Well, bear in mind that the book publishing world generally works at least twelve months ahead of publication to “sell in” its titles to the trade – on both sides of Atlantic.
We don’t expect to see any books featuring the likes of, perhaps, Robot Archie, the Steel Claw and others before the end of 2019 at the earliest – perhaps in the run up to Christmas, but that would also be dependent on Rebellion accessing scans of the published comics. (Please note, I have no inside information on whether or not the two characters mentioned above are even on Rebellion’s radar – that’s just wishful thinking on my part!)
Meanwhile, Joining more Roy of the Rovers, Billy’s Boots and “Turbo Jones” from the pages of one of Fleetway’s final boys titles, the short-lived Wildcat, are the following…
