London’s Gosh! Comics announces massive Small Press Day signing schedule

Small Press Day is back for its seventh year running across the UK on Saturday 13th August 2022, and Gosh! Comics London will be running several signings throughout the day, representing some of London’s most celebrated independent creators!

Gosh! Comics - Small Press Day 2022

Created back in 2016 by cartoonist David Ziggy GreeneAndy Oliver of Broken Frontier and Amneet Johal of Alternative Press, Small Press Day was designed to support the DIY and self-publishing comics scene of the UK. On the day, shops all over the country take part by hosting their own special events and highlighting their local small press talent. At Gosh!, the team be arranging four hourly signings with a total of 16 fabulous creatives.

Kicking things off at 12 noon – 1.00pm will be the amazing Kayla LuiBeatrice MossmanLily Blakely and J Webster Sharp. From 1.00 – 2.00pm will be the incredible LandoGareth BrookesShane Melise and Olivia Sullivan.

Following that, at 2.00 – 3.00pm, are Mike KennedyMolly StocksPatrick Wray and Simon Moreton. And to round things off for the day at 3.00 – 4.00pm will be Sean AzzopardiDoug NobleFraser Geesin and Mark Stafford.

The day will run in a similar fashion to a mini festival. All of the fabulous guests will be selling their comics and signing in-store. Throughout the course of the day, they will also be collaborating on a jam zine, which will then be printed and available for free towards the end of the day.

The founder of downthetubes, John works as a comics editor, writer, as Creative Consultant on the Dan Dare audio adventures for B7 Media, and on promotional work for the Lakes International Comic Art Festival. Working in British comics publishing for over 30 years, his credits include editor of titles such as Doctor Who Magazine, Star Trek Magazine and Babylon 5 Magazine. He also edited the comics anthology STRIP Magazine and edited several audio comics for ROK Comics. He has also edited several comic collections, including volumes of “Charley’s War and “Dan Dare”. He’s the writer of “Crucible”, a creator-owned project with 2000AD artist Smuzz, published on Tapastic; and “Death Duty” and “Skow Dogs” with Dave Hailwood for digital comic 100% Biodegradable.
