Hundreds of screen used props and costume from Bromyard’s The Time Machine Museum of Science Fiction, which, sadly, closed earlier this year, will be sold in Heritage Auctions upcoming Hollywood/Entertainment Signature Auction, between 16th and 19th July 2025.
The Time Machine Museum of Science Fiction was founded in 2007, one of Herefordshire’s hidden gems, the collection representing the Glazzard family’s decades-long dedication to preserving and promoting the history of science fiction.
The museum closed in March, and now all the exhibits are to be sold by auction individually by Heritage Auctions, the largest auction house in the world handling science fiction memorabilia.

A centrepiece of the collection was its peerless Doctor Who archive – over 85 per cent of the museum’s holdings – including production-used props and costumes from both the Classic and New eras of the long-running TV show. Iconic villains such as Daleks, Cybermen, and Silurians were represented, in addition to the world’s only known Mechanoid commissioned by the BBC for exhibition use.
Beyond Doctor Who, the collection features production-used and related pieces from other landmark franchises, including Star Wars, Star Trek: Voyager, and Red Dwarf – with standout items like an original flying model of Starbug, and an original Kryten costume worn by Robert Llewellyn in Season Eight.
Before settling in Bromyard, many of these artefacts featured as part of former Doctor Who exhibitions in Blackpool, Longleat, Llangollen, and Cardiff.

Items in the auction next month include Doctor Who related items from the 1960s, 70s and 80s such as an early Silurian, the L1 robot from “The Trial of a Timelord”, classic and new series costumes – and a Dalek with an Anneke Wills signature inside, made by master Dalek bulder Scott Wayland, who also made many new series Daleks.
The Dalek was affectionately known at the former BBC Llangollen Exhibition, which closed in 2003, as “Norman the Doorman”.
The exhibits were showcased in Heritage Auctions London showrooms before the sale for bidders to examine them, the auction conducted in the United States.

Other items in the auction include plenty of Red Dwarf props and costumes, such as a Starbug miniature, and Cat’s iconic gold biker jacket, from “Back to Reality”.
