Doctor Who artist Graeme Neil Reid is in the festive spirit this month and has a little bit of festive movie magic for his art raffle this month. He’s offering art inspired by two films from 1988 that have become classic Christmas viewing and firm favourites.
Graeme is a Scottish artist who now works primarily in traditional mediums of watercolour and acrylic. His work has graced many different areas including books (The Dangerous Book of Heroes), television (World’s Strongest Man), gaming (Need for Speed), magazines (Radio Times), comics (2000AD and Judge Dredd Megazine), online and apps (Doctor Who).
On offer this month – all New York cop John McClane (played by Bruce Willis) wanted was a chance to mend his broken family life but arriving at the Nakatomi Corporation’s Christmas Party brought a whole new set of issues. “Come out to the coast, we’ll get together, have a few laughs…”. It is all up to ‘Roy’ to stop Hans Gruber and his gang and save his wife in time for Christmas.
“Psychos seize Santa’s workshop and only Lee Majors can stop them.” Television president Frank Cross is under a lot pressure this Christmas season and everyone is in the firing line.
Frank has forgotten what Christmas is truly all about, his life has taken a turn in the wrong direction and he needs a gentle reminder from three spirits to show him how he can get back on track.
This is a retelling of the classic Charles Dickens short story A Christmas Carol starring Bill Murray, Karen Allen and many others.
Both paintings were painted on Bockingford Cold Pressed 425gsm watercolour paper at A6 (15cm x 10.5cm) size.
Entering couldn’t be easier, by pledging just $1 a month on Graeme’s Patreon site you get entered into the Art Raffle plus rewards including Work in Progress posts, Art Club with first chance to buy his art, postcards, PDF sketchbook, supporters portraits and a discount at his Etsy Store.
The competition will run until midnight (GMT) of 31st December 2017 (Happy Hogmanay), and the winner will be notified shortly afterwards. The winner will get to choose one of the two paintings as their prize and the other painting will be available to buy, first to Graeme’s Patreon supporters with an added discount and then in his Esty shop.
