With Christmas almost upon us I’d like to thank everyone who has been reading downthetubes over the year and wish you all the very best of the season. I hope you’ve enjoyed the site in 2014 – we have some great things to come in the New Year!
It’s been a very busy year for downthetubes.net, and many of our news stories have been amazingly popular. Our top story All-New Thunderbirds Revealed, posted back in August, is still getting regular traffic, and with Thunderbirds Are Go! due to debut early next year it’s not likely to be knocked off its top spot anytime soon! We’re keenly awaiting news on DC Thomson’s new tie-in title.
Our Nemesis the Warlock lost film story remains the most popular comics-related story, closely followed by Titan Comics launch of Riders of Berk and the release of Judge Dredd: Underbelly by 2000AD, way back in January.
2015 looks already like being another busy year for British Comics – there are a huge number of great comics and graphic novels in the works and in terms of events, it’s going to be a busy year, with some great comic-related films in the offing such as Kingsman and Avengers: Age of Ultron.
I look forward to seeing what’s to come and meeting more of our readers at events such as the Lakes International Comic Art Festival in October – although that seems a long way off right now, I’m sure it will come around faster than I expect!
I’d like to publicly thank Jeremy Briggs, Owen Watts, Matt Badham, Colin Noble and newcomer to our ranks, Antony Esmond, for their contributions to the site. Thanks to Antony, Owen and Jeremy, we’ve been able to crank up the number of great British comic titles, large and small that we’ve been able to review – and I’m looking forward to seeing what they have to say in 2015.
Your comics news items are always welcome. Please do email us at downthetubesnet@yahoo.co.uk
My very best wishes to you all.
