Weekly humour comic the BEANO has often had science fiction inspired fun in its pages, but writer Andy Fanton and artist Laura Howell have pushed the TARDIS out by making Minnie the Minx the Doctor!
Well… sort of. Minnie was in Cardiff last week, the Bash Street Kids and company touring the country over the summer while the entirety of Beanotown is being repaired after a freak accident (look, these things happen, all right?). While there, she tried to gatecrash recording of an episode of Doctor Who – and ended up crashing into an unidentified Doctor and borrowing his TARDIS!
In this week’s BEANO, on sale now in all good newsagents (well, those not closed by money grabbing, asset stripping Ogrons) and supermarkets, Minnie the Minx and the Bash Street Kids set sail for Dublin, Minnie catching up with them in the TARDIS. We’ll just have to buy next week’s issue to see if this latest twist in the story of Doctor Who continues!
Meanwhile, elsewhere in the issue, Roger the Dodger detects some dodging on the beach, Bananaman is causing mayhem back in Beanotown, Dennis the Menace takes on giant squirrels, and, in “The Numskulls”, Brainy is lost inside Edd!
