Disney Consumer Products is clearly setting some store in the success of the Marvel Netflix series, Daredevil, because it recently unveiled a lineup of product partners for the new show, which will return for a second season on the digital subscription channel in 2016.
Reflecting the edgy adult-oriented style of the show, the new Daredevil merchandise program launches soon and carry through to next year, with licenses focusing on the “Marvel’s Daredevil” logo, Daredevil’s new red suit and the Nelson & Murdock Law Firm logo, along with classic comic book artwork.
Lined up to deliver related merchandise are apparel makers Mad Engine (for t-shirts) C-Life (who also make DC Comics as well as Marvel gear), and Mighty Fine (who already produce Daredevil-related gear); and Bioworld (who have a slew of licensed product on their books) for hats and accessories.
Funko, who already make Marvel items, will roll out a line of collectibles; and CafePress will launch 116 different designs across a wide variety of different products.

Other partners on board include Rubie’s Costumes, Silver Buffalo (offering travel mugs and wall art), with posters in the works from Trends International. (They already do a good line in facsimile comic cover posters).
All the products will be offered through most major retailers as well as specialist comics shops.
“The overwhelmingly positive reaction from fans and critics alike has led to a huge demand for Daredevil merchandising,” says Paul Gitter, senior vice president, licensing, Marvel, DCP.
“While momentum for the series continues to build, we are working quickly to expand our robust licensing program that stays true to the tone of the series and allows fans cool ways to express their passion for Daredevil.”
