The latest issue of top British indie comic anthology Paragon – a glorious 64-page tribute to the late artist Stephen Prestwood, who died recently – is on sale now, direct from the title’s official site.
Featuring 64 pages of fantastic art – strips and pin-ups, the collection includes stories written by great writers such as Jason Cobley, Dirk van Dom, Greg Meldrum, John A. Short and Mike Sivier and featuring great characters such as Captain Winston Bulldog, Icarus Dangerous and El Bigote.
It’s a great compendium of comics action, put together by Davey Candlish featuring strips that are part of, or related to, the Paragon line-up. Some sample pages below.
“Stephen was never understated himself, but humble and endlessly enthusiastic about comics, about our characters, and life itself,” says Davey. “It was an honour to know him and to collaborate with him. This special edition of Paragon contains two of my strips but please don’t buy it just for that. It’s full of his imagination in full flight. It’s a wonderful celebration of Stephen’s comics. He had real style and we miss him.”
