Featuring guests from comics, movies and TV, For the Love of Sci-Fi is a two-day event taking place at Bowlers Exhibition Centre in Manchester on 3rd – 4th December 2016.
Comics guests announced so far are Mike Collins, Carlos Ezquerra, Simon Furman, Diego Galindo, Kev Hopgood, Staz Johnson, Mike McKone, Sergio Mora, Nika Nartova, Nigel Parkinson, Ian Richardson, Geoff Senior, William Simpson, Lee Sullivan, Nacho Tenorio and John Wagner.
The media guests announced will appeal to a wide variety of groups including Gerry Anderson and Doctor Who fans (among others). So far they include the original Battlestar Galactica‘s Dirk Benedict, Aliens and Terminator actor Michael Biehn, Jennifer Blanc-Biehn, Jon Campling, Kevin Hudson, Herbert Jefferson Jr, Norman Lovett, Miriam Margoyles, Doctor Who‘s Sylvester McCoy, Patricia Quinn, Thunderbirds voice actor Shane Rimmer, Robin of Sherwood actor Mark Ryan, Star Trek‘s David Warner, Jeremy Wilkin and Matt Zimmerman.
Offering jaw-dropping animatronics, movie props and exhibits, cosplay, gaming, live music, a children’s play areaand more, this could be just the place to go for your Christmas presents…

The founder of downthetubes, which he established in 1998. John works as a comics and magazine editor, writer, and on promotional work for the Lakes International Comic Art Festival. He is currently editor of Star Trek Explorer, published by Titan – his third tour of duty on the title originally titled Star Trek Magazine.
Working in British comics publishing since the 1980s, his credits include editor of titles such as Doctor Who Magazine, Babylon 5 Magazine, and more. He also edited the comics anthology STRIP Magazine and edited several audio comics for ROK Comics. He has also edited several comic collections, including volumes of “Charley’s War” and “Dan Dare”.
He’s the writer of “Pilgrim: Secrets and Lies” for B7 Comics; “Crucible”, a creator-owned project with 2000AD artist Smuzz; and “Death Duty” and “Skow Dogs” with Dave Hailwood.
