Ringo Awards 2024 Nominations Now Open

Mike Wieringo - Ringo Awards Nominee

Nominations have opened for this year’s Mike Wieringo Comic Book Industry Awards, an annual celebration of the comics industry with winners chosen by fans and pros alike. The awards will return to Baltimore Comic-Con for their sixth year on Saturday 21st September 2024.

Winners will be chosen from over 20 categories. The top two fan choices will become nominees and a pro-jury will select the other three nominees for each category.

Michael Lance “Mike” Wieringo (24th June 1963 – 12th August 2007), who often signed his work Ringo, was an American comics artist best known for his work on DC Comics’ The Flash, Marvel Comics’ Fantastic Four, and his co-creation, Tellos.

Nomination ballot voting is open to both fans and pros now through 23rd May 2024 and the final ballots are expected to be available for comic pros for voting on 24th July, and will be due by 21st August. Eligibility for creators and books is based on publication from the preceding calendar year.

“Last year, we really felt like we hit our stride,” Baltimore Comic-Con promoter Marc Nathan says. “The ceremony was jam-packed with top-tier creators, both nominated and in attendance, from all parts of North America, not to mention Europe and Australia. We had a lot of laughs, a few tears of joy, and the room had a fantastic time.

“This is one of our favourite elements of the Baltimore Comic-Con weekend, and we’re really looking forward to 2024’s event!”
