There’s still time to grab “Velicity Jones: The Immortal Man” if you subscribe to Aces Weekly now

The latest seven week run of the latest digital volume of David Lloyd’s Aces Weekly anthology ends soon, but what a ride it’s been, especially, for me, the latest superspy “Velecity Jones” adventure from Lee Robson and Bryan Coyle.

The Immortal Man” is, admittedly, a pretty crazy tale, steeped with reference to previous adventures, but written and drawn with genuine confidence, laying trails for a new tale yet to come. I thoroughly enjoyed reading the story, now complete, as Aces Weekly Volume 79 draws to a close this week – subscribe right here to read it, and volumes to come.

In this latest adventure from Lee and Bryan, when rogue British agent Darius Shaw is assassinated during a prisoner exchange, it seems like an open and shut case for Velicty Jones, after she catches up with the killers.

But following the revelation that Shaw is, somehow, still alive, and has apparently survived multiple deaths across the globe, the world’s greatest secret agent is faced with a conundrum even she may not be able to unravel…

“Obviously, the makers of Peaky Blinders got wind of what we were doing and decided to try and steal our thunder by nicking the title for their new film, and it clearly isn’t just a huge coincidence,” Lee notes, wryly, of “The Immortal Man”.

“I think it’s fair to say we’re excited about this one,” he told us recently. “It feels like we’ve been away from Velicity Jones for a long while, but it also feels right to bring ‘The Immortal Man’ to the table at last: I’ve been sitting on the idea since 2019, but just couldn’t figure out how to get to it until we wrapped up the last one.

“It’s also the story that myself and Bryan collaborated most closely on,” he adds. “It’s been interesting watching it all change and evolve as it’s slowly come together, and, I think it might just be the best one we’ve done so far.

“I don’t really want to say too much more about it, if I’m being honest, because I don’t want to give anything away, but I will say this: I’m confident no one will manage to solve the mystery of the eponymous “Immortal Man” before we reveal what’s going on. A bold statement? Maybe, but I stand by it.”

See what you think for yourself by subscribing to Aces Weekly now, and read the whole adventure yourself. Plus, the “Extras” for this volume, available now, include a fascinating 36-page guide to the making of “The Immortal Man”, and character profiles for good measure!
