The annual Thought Bubble Festival in Leeds takes place next weekend (17th – 24th November) and we’ve already enthused about the fantastic line up of guest here; but don’t forget that even if you can’t attend one of the largest celebrations of comics and animation in the UK, you can pick up a copy of this year’s Thought Bubble Anthology from Image Comics.
Featuring a spectacular roster of creative talent, and with all profits going to the Barnardo’s Charity, the anthology is available from all good comic ships and features a variety of original tales by incredible industry talent from around the world, plus some shining new stars of the UK comics community.
Curated with the ultimate aim of showcasing the very best that sequential art has to offer, this collection prints the winners of 2012’s Northern Sequential Art Competition, as well as new and original works by Brandon Graham, Cameron Stewart, Ming Doyle, Richard Starkings, Boo Cook, Carlos Ezquerra, Jeffrey Brown, Nicholas Gurewitch (Perry Bible Fellowship), Gabriel Ba, Fabio Moon, Ramon Perez, with a cover by Alice Duke.

John is the founder of downthetubes, launched in 1998. He is a comics and magazine editor, writer, and Press Officer for the Lakes International Comic Art Festival. He also runs Crucible Comic Press.
Working in British comics publishing since the 1980s, his credits include editor of titles such as Doctor Who Magazine and Overkill for Marvel UK, Babylon 5 Magazine, Star Trek Magazine, and its successor, Star Trek Explorer, and more. He also edited the comics anthology STRIP Magazine and edited several audio comics for ROK Comics; and has edited several comic collections and graphic novels, including volumes of “Charley’s War” and “Dan Dare”, and Hancock: The Lad Himself, by Stephen Walsh and Keith Page.
He’s the writer of comics such as Pilgrim: Secrets and Lies for B7 Comics; “Crucible”, a creator-owned project with 2000AD artist Smuzz; and “Death Duty” and “Skow Dogs”, with Dave Hailwood.
