Just to add to the list of Doctor Who first issue covers from Titan Comics, the company is to release these limited edition UK exclusive editions with photo cover variants. Only 1000 copies of each edition will be available when the first issues of their Tenth and Eleventh Doctor series launch next month (23rd July), presumably because of previously-announced limitations on their UK distribution for the physical editions of the new comics.
Titan also recently released details of the first issue of their upcoming Twelfth Doctor series which launches in October, written by Robbie Morrison (Drowntown, The Authority, 2000AD, Nikolai Dante) and drawn by Dave Taylor (Batman: Death by Design; 2000AD). So far, six variant covers have been announced.
Freshly regenerated and with a new head full of unanswered questions, the Doctor (as played by Peter Capaldi) whisks Clara Oswald (as played by Jenna Coleman) away to a strange and distant world for a five-issue series.
Clara thought she was in for an evening of marking essays on the Metaphysical Poets, followed by going out on a date – or at least trying to. You know, normal stuff.
Instead, she’s facing down exotic flora and fauna in her best dress, backing up the Doctor on a trek through traumatically alien undergrowth – and she doesn’t even know what the Doctor is searching for, or what will try to kill them should they find it!
New Face! New Doctor! New Beginning! Get in on the ground floor of this amazing ongoing series!
The variant covers include a freely-orderable variant featuring Peter Capaldi’s own teenage fan-art of the TARDIS, and a beautiful new painting from Alice X. Zhang.
