Doctor Who: The Twelfth Doctor Issue #6 from Titan Comics, written by Robbie Morrison with art by Brian Williamson, is out on Wednesday in all good comic shops (and some run by undercover Sontarans).
The issue features a cover by Blair Shedd, who’s also drawing the five-part Ninth Doctor series for Titan, which launches on 1st April (we have a sneak peek for that here).
Robbie is most famous for his work on “Judge Dredd” for 2000AD and co-creating the magnificent 27th century swashbuckler Nikolai Dante. The first book in a graphic novel series, Drowntown, set in a future London ravaged by climate change, was published by Jonathan Cape in 2013, drawn by Jim Murray – a stylish thriller introducing Leo Noiret, an unconventional hero set to make a splash in the London underworld.
Brian Williamson’s credits are numerous, too: he’s drawn Torchwood strips for Titan in the past, created many a memorable newspaper illustration for DC Comics, The Sunday Times and more. I was privileged to work with him back in the 1990s, first as his editor, on a Doctor Who strip featuring the original Master, and on the four issue mini, Shadow Riders, which was drawn by Ross Dearsley.
