Voting in the third Tripwire Awards, celebrating the best in UK and US comic talent, closes on 1st August, followed by an announcement of the winners at the end of the month – at a physical event at London’s Cartoon Museum, and a limited number of tickets to attend are available now.
The team on the popular magazine and web site thought it would be great to have a physical ceremony on to announce the winners, which will take place at London’s Cartoon Museum on Thursday 26th August.
Hosted by The Convention Collective’s Leonard Sultana, the awards will announce the winners of categories like Best Writer, Best Artist, Best Publisher and more. The ceremony will also give away a selection of top graphic novels to the attendees from the likes of Marvel, IDW and Dark Horse as well as beer, wine and snacks.
Tripwire says many of the winners will be present at the ceremony to accept their awards while others will be accepting them via Zoom or video link.
“Tripwire started the awards at 2019 to give something back to the comics industry who have supported all these years,” says the title’s editor-in-chief, Joel Meadows, “And it’s nice to be able to put on a physical awards ceremony again after the past 15 months of not being able to host something physical.”
“The London Cartoon Museum is the perfect location for our event as it’s the home of comics in London,” he continued.
A long-standing part of the fabric of both the British and international comics community, Tripwire recently launched its debut digital edition.
