
EBay auctioneer Phil-Comics has a bumper crop of vintage titles on offer this week with around 450 listings at their British eBay shop. All start at the usual 99p with no reserve so you decide the market value.
Lots include more DC Thomson-related comic scripts and accompanying comic written by Valerie Harman, with some attracting more bids than others, plus fantastic job lots of girls titles such as Jinty, Lady Penelope and Sally.
Other lots include both single and job lots of Beano, Dandy, Eagle, Fantastic, Hotspur, Nutty, Robin, Swift, Topper, Twinkle, TV Century 21, TV Comic, TV Fun, TV Tornado, Valiant, Picture Library comics, and some terrific titles featuring work created by acclaimed artists such as Frank Bellamy and Don Lawrence. Plus, some American titles, too.
Run by Phil Shrimpton, Phil Comics specialises in vintage comics and related items such as annuals, holiday specials, free gifts and original artwork.

Also available exclusively from Phil-Comics is the wonderful Beano and The Dandy Classic Comic Covers 1937-1988, and currently, there are a limited number of copies signed by current Beano editor John Anderson – only the seventh person hold this prestigious and demanding role. The founder of downthetubes, which he established in 1998. John works as a comics and magazine editor, writer, and on promotional work for the Lakes International Comic Art Festival. He is currently editor of Star Trek Explorer, published by Titan – his third tour of duty on the title originally titled Star Trek Magazine.
Working in British comics publishing since the 1980s, his credits include editor of titles such as Doctor Who Magazine, Babylon 5 Magazine, and more. He also edited the comics anthology STRIP Magazine and edited several audio comics for ROK Comics. He has also edited several comic collections, including volumes of “Charley’s War” and “Dan Dare”.
He’s the writer of “Pilgrim: Secrets and Lies” for B7 Comics; “Crucible”, a creator-owned project with 2000AD artist Smuzz; and “Death Duty” and “Skow Dogs” with Dave Hailwood.
