Yorkshire Wildlife Park is hosting a family-friendly Comic Book Superheroes weekend over Friday 31st May to Sunday 2nd June 2019.
New for 2019, organisers tell us the event offers a spectacular comic book and superhero exhibition, cosplay competitions, interactive games – and of course with the park’s incredible animals to see too, this sounds like fun.
The exhibition produced in partnership with the World of Superheroes team will feature life-sized statues of favourite characters, as well as original comics, and a “Fan-Zone” will showcase comic fans models, costumes and more. (It’s your chance to even grab a selfie with a 1989 Batmobile!)
A ‘Hollywood Action Stunt Show!’ will run live from the park every day, while a series of “Mini-adventures” – offered at extra charge – include a giant-free fall stunt jump into an airbag, bungee trampolines, and sprint-tunnel radar gun challenge where you can test if you can run faster than a superhero.
With Cosplay competitions – dress as your favourite characters for a chance to win brilliant prizes – superhero crafts and a themed trail around the park for kids, the only thing you might have to worry about is the animals getting in on the action… Let’s not forget some of the encouragement they’ve had in the past!
With nearly 400 animals and 70 different species of animal, including lions, polar bears, meerkats, Painted Dogs and wallabys, Yorkshire Wildlife Park is a offers a breathtaking walk-through wildlife adventure. Most of the animals at the park are either endangered or threatened, and the park work closely with charities to help the conservation of endangered species in the wild and captivity. .
