In a bumper episode of the Lakes International Comic Art Festival Podcast, Ian Loxam and Nikki Bates chat to Andrew Mark Sewell and Richard Kurti of B7 Media about the Dan Dare Audio Adventures, which have been airing on BBC Radio 4 Extra. They discuss their careers, B7 Media itself and the process of bringing Dan Dare to life via audio.
Andrew Mark Sewell will be heading up a B7 Media delegation to this year’s Festival – you’ll find their table alongside the downthtubes stand in the Comics Clock Tower, where the Dan Dare series creative consultant, John Freeman, will be found lurking when he’s not on stage interviewing the likes of artists Ian and Cam Kennedy and others.
The rest of the episode is spent discussing the top comic book-based movies, as this is a panel topic at this year’s Lakes International Comic Art Festival, and the favourite choice will be shown on the big screen. Ian and Nikki blast through their choices, as do Mike Williams and Pete Taylor, who join forces this episode to do an extra long special about their favourite movies too.
“This was a blast to record for all involved and we hope you enjoy it too,” says Ian. “Listen out for Pete’s shocking guilty pleasure!”
