London’s Cartoon Museum has revealed the lineup for its third annual Cartoon Conference, taking place all day on Monday 26th February 2024, which includes Comics Laureate Bobby Joseph and comic writer and artist Lucy Sullivan. Plus, if you book your tickets using a special code before Wednesday, you’ll get 25% off the price.
Learn how to survive and thrive as a comic artist and creator at this special event, by learning from industry experts and specialists all under one roof, for one day only. Find inspiration, make connections, and learn to live as a pro cartoonist.
Lunch is included in the ticket price, for an event that includes panels from new Comics Laureate and esteemed writer and cartoonist Bobby Joseph; graphic novelist and educator Rachael Ball; comic artist and writer Lucy Sullivan; Senior Creative Editor, Titan Publishing David Leach; the Association of Illustrators, The Creative Mentor Network, and Society of Authors.
Acclaimed independent comic publisher Avery Hill will also be holding portfolio reviews – details to be confirmed.
After the official event closes at 6.20 pm, networking will continue at a local pub until 8.00pm.

Talking of the Cartoon Museum, the popular venue is currently trying to raise finds to get its lift back in operation – find out more and donate here. Just under £2000 has been raised so far of their £10,000 target to top up the £43,000 already secured to fix the lift.

The founder of downthetubes, which he established in 1998. John works as a comics and magazine editor, writer, and on promotional work for the Lakes International Comic Art Festival. He is currently editor of Star Trek Explorer, published by Titan – his third tour of duty on the title originally titled Star Trek Magazine.
Working in British comics publishing since the 1980s, his credits include editor of titles such as Doctor Who Magazine, Babylon 5 Magazine, and more. He also edited the comics anthology STRIP Magazine and edited several audio comics for ROK Comics. He has also edited several comic collections, including volumes of “Charley’s War” and “Dan Dare”.
He’s the writer of “Pilgrim: Secrets and Lies” for B7 Comics; “Crucible”, a creator-owned project with 2000AD artist Smuzz; and “Death Duty” and “Skow Dogs” with Dave Hailwood.
