Two original “Charley’s War” Battle over artworks by Joe Colquhoun are being offered on eBay, this week, by two different sellers.
The first – and the most dramatic – is the cover of Battle, cover dated 23rd August 1980, a scene from a gripping naval battle. The seller notes that while the original backing stat has a part missing and the stat itself has also become detached., the actual central artwork is not affected by this and is in good condition.
This auction for this ends on Thursday evening and is offered here. 10% of the sale price will benefit Pendleside Hospice.
The second cover on offer, for an issue of Battle Action, cover dated 1st November 1980 is another great scene conjured by writer Pat Mills and Joe, which, as we noted in this item, was previously offered on eBay earlier this year.
A great “Charley’s War” cover, the detail in Joe’s inking in amazing, and it’s a large artwork, measuring approximately 41 cm x 50 cm. There are a few marks around the edge of the page, but it’s otherwise in top condition – bright and no fading. The titles have been removed to be reused.
You can bid on this eBay auctions item here.
“Charley’s War” and Battle owners Rebellion have released the entire original “Charley’s War” story in three omnibus editions.
