Corgi, Britain’s heritage diecast manufacturer, has announced that they are relaunching several Star Trek ships from their Classic collection. The first two models being released are the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 from Star Trek: The Original Series and the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-D from Star Trek: The Next Generation.
Available now online direct from Corgi, alongside other TV classic models such as the SPV and Angel Interceptor from Gerry Anderson’s Captain Scarlet, the updated classic products feature updated and TV accurate model decoration, and a new Starfleet display stand featuring the iconic Delta insignia.
The re-released models come in deluxe ‘in-universe’ Starfleet Command branded packaging, with premium finish and a detailed history of the starship inside the pack.
CORGI previously launched the range of ships in 2006; they have now been updated with new decoration and deluxe packaging designed with the fan in mind. The U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 film refit is also due for release later this year.
“We’re delighted to be returning to the Final Frontier with these new CORGI Star Trek model releases,” enthuses David Mather, Head of Brand for CORGI. “We’ve added an array of special touches to appeal to Star Trek fans new and old, such as special packaging featuring graphics on the inner lid to give the appearance of an operating screen.
“We’re looking forward to these landing in fans’ hands, and to our seeing our future Star Trek products come to life.”
