The ever-changing nature of Doctor Who’s stories has created numerous opportunities for guest stars to make their mark. The Doctor’s friends, colleagues and foes have been played by some of our most distinguished actors – many of whom regard a role in the series as a career highlight.

This latest Special Edition of Doctor Who Magazine, Issue 61, on sale this week, examines the programme’s casting strategies over the decades and revisits 100 unforgettable performances, featuring articles on guest stars and, and some would argue, short-lived Companions.
Find out just who has stolen the show down the decades… hopefully, for all the right reasons!
Do note the Doctor Who Special, like Doctor Who Chronicles, is a separate publication to Doctor Who Magazine. Separate subscriptions are available
