Over on eBay, Phil-Comics late August auction is now live, offering a huge range of vintage British and US comics.
Highlights include early issues of 2000AD – with Prog 2 offered with its free gift, a huge number of copies of the DC Thomson humour title Topper, copies of Lady Penelope, the final issue of Eagle, a rare proof copy of an issue TV Comic, and first issues of several British comics, including Cracker, Cor!! and Star Wars, some with free gifts.
A genuinely rare item – a colour proof for TV Comic 827, cover dated 21st October 1967 which has an ink stamp mark to the cover dated 28/9 1967, so around four weeks before the comic hit newsagents. A very interesting and rare piece of memorabilia from the printing house and editorial offices of Polystyle Publications, with the added bonus of including the highly collectable Doctor Who strip.
Run by Phil Shrimpton, Phil Comics specialises in vintage comics and related items such as annuals, holiday specials, free gifts and original artwork.
Holding monthly eBay auctions, often with 500+ listings, they aim to bring a diverse array of items – and are always on the lookout for vintage comic collections, either to buy or auction on commission.
