Hibernia have teamed up with publishing giants Egmont again to bring readers a cracking second Volume of The Thirteenth Floor, the classic story that ran first in Scream comic and then in the new Eagle for many years, written by John Wagner and Alan Grant, with artwork by the late Jose Ortiz.
The Thirteenth Floor centres on Max, a computer installed into a block of council-run flats who has an overprotective attitude toward his tenants – and the the building, able to take revenge on any wrongdoers (and there are plenty of those) thanks to his mysterious “Thirteenth Floor” which can conjure horrors to terrify even the toughest of men.

The quality of this limited edition is again top notch, as with previous Hibernia collections such as The Tower King, also drawn by Ortiz and the stories are great fun, developing the overall storyline as Max’s thirst to do what’s right puts his hypnotised minions at increasing risk – and when an electronics expert is called in to check on his circuits, will Max face shutdown?
If you remember the original stories you can enjoy them again in this great collection and if you don’t, then check out one of Britain’s rare attempts at a horror comic in a weekly comic – no easy task with management looking over editor’s shoulders, as Scream staff member Simon Furman recalls in his introduction to the volume. Back in the 1980s, the public outcry over Action comic , stirred up by the tabloids, still haunted publishers and the editorial team had a difficult task placating their bosses while still offering a chilling tale readers would love.
The Thirteenth Floor Volume Two features the story at its height and this is a great collection that you should definitely check out.

Working in British comics publishing since the 1980s, his credits include editor of titles such as Doctor Who Magazine, Star Trek Explorer (previously known as Star Trek Magazine) and more. He also edited the comics anthology STRIP Magazine and edited several audio comics for ROK Comics. He has also edited several comic collections, including volumes of “Charley’s War and “Dan Dare”. He’s the writer of "Pilgrim: Secrets and Lies" for B7 Comics; “Crucible”, a creator-owned project with 2000AD artist Smuzz; and “Death Duty” and “Skow Dogs” with Dave Hailwood.
