Earlier this year, NECA released an action figure of one of America’s greatest comic creators with thousands of pages under his name and an imagination that soars above many -– Jack Kirby. The figure seems to have since become something of a mini meme among comic fans… could others follow? Alan Moore? Steve Ditko? Gail Simone?
The action figure is based on Kirby’s appearance in the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comic books by Eastman & Laird, published by Mirage Studios.
In a one-issue, micro-series comic published in May 1986, Donatello encounters a reclusive artist named Kirby, who can bring his sketches to life with the power of a magic crystal-enhanced pencil.
Now, if you can find one, you can celebrate Donatello’s fan-favourite solo adventure with this seven-inch scale Kirby action figure, complete with interchangeable hands and a variety of issue-specific accessories.
The NECA figure comes in window box packaging, featuring original artwork by Kevin Eastman, and you can find them on eBay, on some comic shop sites, and alternate dimensions.
