Lancastrians enjoyed a great night boogieing to reunited local band Mostly Hums, Sea of Rain and Frenetic at Lancaster Library on 3rd July 2016.
The event raised £500 raised for Cancer Care UK and the local St John’s Hospice, and included a Conga around the library. It also saw the first use of a new lighting rig, paid for thanks to monies raised for the Friends of Lancaster Library on this year’s Lancaster Comics Day.

The team behind the annual event (including myself!) thanks once again to everyone who came to the Day, and all the creators, exhibitors and gamers involved – including Austin Chambers, Dan Charnley, JS Collyer, Andy Diggle, Jack Knight, Joe Matthews, Alex Paknadel, Graham Pearce, Sean Phillips, Tim Quinn, Eddie Robson, Adrian Salmon, Lew Stringer, Ken Walton, Tom Ward, Chris Welsh and House Lancaster Gaming (co-ordinated by Sam Phillips).
Also, Mark Braithwaite from Lancaster’s First Age Comics who sponsored the event. Plus of course the Friends of Lancaster Library team and Lancaster Library staff who organised the whole thing on the day – and Katie White for her Comic Cake and Nick Miller for al his gorgeous promotional art and the loan of Dennis the Cat as a mascot.
Lancaster Comics Day is scheduled to return to Lancaster Library for a third year on Sunday 11th June 2017, again organised by the Friends of Lancaster Library. Post the date in your diary now!
